Step 1: Open Photoshop Elements
The first step is to open Photoshop Elements. It can be downloaded from Adobe.com. You can also use the download here to automatically open Photoshop Elements in your default web browser when visiting this website.
This tutorial uses Photoshop Elements 20 but you may need to update to a later version depending on your operating system.
It’s a good idea to keep an uninstaller on hand so that you can quickly reinstall Photoshop Elements if anything goes wrong.
Step 2: Open and Create a New Image
To start this tutorial, create a new image. Choose a size in inches or cm (pixels) which suits your project best. Click on the “File” menu and select “New”. The image will open in Photoshop Elements. The default size is 100×100.
Step 3: Import a Photo
Choose File > Import. Navigate to the folder on your computer where you have the photo and click on it to import the image into Photoshop Elements.
Step 4: Adjust the Brightness and Contrast
Choose View > Brightness/Contrast.
This will adjust the brightness of the image and set the contrast. You can leave it at this stage.
Step 5: Adjust the Exposure
Under Image > Adjustments, choose Exposure.
When your image is finished, go to File > Save or press Shift + S to save it to your computer.
Step 6: Adjust the Hue, Saturation, Luminance and Color
Under Image > Adjustments, choose Hue/Saturation.
Click on “Saturation” to edit the Hue, Saturation and Lightness of the colours.
If you want to adjust the brightness and contrast of the image, go to Image > Adjustments.
Step 7: Apply a Layer Mask
Use the eraser (Eraser tool) and shape a selection to mask out part of the image. You can use the method discussed below to select and mask out parts of the image.
Step 8: Filter > Distort > Lens Blur
Adjust the blur (radius in px or radius in mm) to your liking. You can choose any combination of the Horizontal and Vertical Bl

1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a method of recording and reproducing a data stream including both moving picture data and ancillary data in a moving picture data recording/reproducing apparatus, and particularly to a method of efficient data stream processing in such a recording and reproducing apparatus.
2. Description of the Prior Art
When recording data of a moving picture with an ancillary data such as data for editing a main picture and data for copyright protection of the main picture, a data stream is generated which consists of the main picture data and the ancillary data.
It has been proposed to utilize an MPEG system (ISO/IEC 13818) in the data stream. In this system, the ancillary data and the main picture data are divided into GOPs (groups of pictures) of a predetermined length. An MPEG system uses no data other than those necessary for decoding the entire contents of each GOP.
The system for recording such a data stream in an optical disk such as a DVD (digital video disk), requires processings for recording and reproducing the data stream.
If the recording speed is high, however, the processings of the prior art for the data stream are very complicated.Q:
Rotational symmetry of vibrating drum
I’ve spent quite some time thinking about this problem of a vibrating drum.
To simplify the problem, let’s say that we have a non-rotated, non-axisymmetric, free-standing drum, fixed to a light sensitive surface.
Once the surface is activated and starts to vibrate, the drum itself shakes in a rhythmic way (as in the image below).
Now, let’s assume that the drum is cylindrical.
If I take the average profile of the drum’s surface at each point, I will get a curve resembling a sine-wave.
Intuitively, it seems as though the drum would remain standing if it could hold a sine-wave type profile for the whole drum, and therefore its profile would not be restricted to being sinusoidal.
However, how could we prove that its profile should be limited to a sine-wave?
It would be a nice proof if I could see a numerical calculation of what the drum’s shape would be, which would show how its profile would evolve as a function of time.
